🥁 Quick Overview: Think of your cells like mini factories. Translation is like a machine in that factory, turning a written instruction (mRNA) into an actual product (polypeptide).

What is a Polypeptide? 📿

  • A long chain made up of amino acids.
  • Like a beaded necklace where each bead can be one of 20 different amino acids.
  • Real-world example: Think of a necklace you might make with beads. Each bead is unique (an amino acid) and the order matters. Imagine wearing a necklace of random colors vs. a well-sequenced pattern!

How is a Polypeptide Made? 🔨

  • mRNA: The messenger that carries the instruction manual.
  • Translation: The process of reading that instruction (from mRNA) and building the polypeptide.
  • Real-world example: Imagine getting a letter in Morse code. You'd need a translator to understand it and then act on the message. mRNA is that Morse code, and translation is the act of decoding it.
