Metallic bonding is like a concert where:

	<li>The metal ions (cations) are the fans.</li>
	<li>The delocalized electrons are the sound waves connecting everyone.</li>
</ul>

In simple words, metals bond due to the attraction between metal ions and free-moving electrons.

Electronegativity

<ul>
	<li>Increases as we move left to right across periods.</li>
	<li>Decreases as we go down the groups.</li>
</ul>

Metallic Properties

<ul>
	<li>Opposite of the electronegativity trend!
	<ul>
		<li>Increase as you move down groups.</li>
		<li>Decrease as you go from left to right across periods.</li>
	</ul>
	</li>
</ul>

🌍 Real-world Example 
In Period 3, start with sodium (a shiny metal) and move to argon (a noble gas). As you move, the elements go from being metallic superstars to non-metallic introverts!

Imagine the bonding spectrum as a rainbow:

🎸 Left side: Elements that are like electric guitars, low in electronegativity and forming metallic bonds.
