Hello young scholars! We're diving into the world of news, satire, and 'fake news' today. It's a wild world out there, but you've got the power to navigate it. Let's roll!

Structure and freedom in news

  • Structure in news is the way information is arranged and delivered to us. It includes the hierarchy of the stories, the language used, the angles of the news pieces, etc. Imagine news structure like a LEGO set - it dictates how your final product (the news article) looks.

  • Freedom on the other hand, is a little trickier. It's the ability for writers, journalists, and news outlets to twist, turn, and reshape the LEGO blocks to create a unique piece of art, sometimes for good, sometimes not.

Real-world Example: Remember when the teacher asked you to write an essay and you wondered, "Should I start with a quote, a question, or a bold statement?" That's you playing with the structure to make your essay engaging. Freedom, in this case, is your choice to write about aliens building the pyramids or AI ruling the world!
