Species what are they?

A species is like the ultimate team in nature! It's made up of organisms that can date, mingle, and make babies together. Yup, you got it right! It's a group of organisms that can interbreed and produce fertile offspring.

For example, take a look at the "King of the Jungle", the lion, or as the scientists like to call it, Panthera leo. All lions belong to the same species because they can interbreed and have little cubs that grow up to have their own cubs (those are the fertile offspring we're talking about).

Habitat🏞️

We'll now move to habitat, which in simple terms is an organism's crib or pad, its home sweet home! It's the specific environment or place where an organism lives. It provides the essential life-supporting goodies: food, water, shelter, and other resources.

Let's stick with our lion, Panthera leo. His crib? The African Savannah, with its vast grasslands, water sources, and plenty of gazelles for dinner. Yum!
