<h4>1️⃣ Why was the 4 May Movement important?</h4>

In China, warlordism (those bullies, but armed and dangerous) led to intense resentment against foreign powers, specifically the Japanese. This helped trigger the 4 May Movement.</li>
	<li><strong>Political Importance</strong>: This movement was crucial in setting the stage for the reorganization of the Guomindang (GMD) in 1919 and the creation of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1921.</li>
</ul>

<h4>2️⃣ Origins - Why did it happen?</h4>

	<li><strong>Anti-Foreign Sentiment among Intellectuals</strong>: The smart kids in the room (intellectuals) were super disappointed that the 1911 Revolution and the republic didn&#39;t fix China&rsquo;s problems. Add Western refusal to recognize China&#39;s self-determination in 1919, and you&#39;ve got a pot of resentment brewing.</li>

<h4>3️⃣ What was happening internationally? 🌍</h4>

	<li><strong>Western Pressures (1914-1919)</strong>: The big players, like Britain, France, and Russia, were like the popular kids in school who ignored the shy kid (China). At the start of WWI, they asked China and Japan to join in against Germany.

		<li><strong>Japan&#39;s Sneaky Moves</strong>: While Japan jumped in, it also kept China from joining, basically to hog the limelight and get more power. Imagine taking all the credit for a group project&mdash;that&rsquo;s what Japan was trying to do.</li>
		<li><strong>Britain&#39;s Dilemma</strong>: Britain didn&rsquo;t want to upset its new friend, Japan. So they decided not to press too hard for China&rsquo;s entry into the war.</li>
