🚀 Layman’s Intro: Imagine if your school decided to change its uniform, but allowed the old student council, who loved the previous one, to decide on the design. Chances are, the "new" uniform wouldn’t look so new after all!
Need for Stability 🏰
- When drafting the new constitution, the need for stability meant many old aspects of Imperial Germany were retained.
- Real-World Example: It's like if your family moved to a new house but kept your grandma’s antique furniture. Familiar, but maybe not the best fit for the new place!
The Civil Service 📑
- Kept in hands of those who liked the old ways of Imperial Germany.
- They were very powerful, especially since ministers in coalition governments changed a lot.
- Real-World Example: Imagine the school principal changing every month, but the strict old librarian who dislikes e-books remains the same. Who has more say over the long run?
