๐ŸŽ‰ Fun Fact: Imagine if, today, you bought a loaf of bread and the next day it costs a hundred times more. That's hyperinflation for you. Wild, right?

Ending Hyperinflation: Stresemann to the Rescue! ๐Ÿ“Œ

  • November 1923: Gustav Stresemann became the new Chancellor.
  • Stresemann's Big Moves
    • Bye-bye Ruhr resistance! He stopped the passive resistance in the Ruhr.
    • Reparations: Promised to keep paying them.
    • New Banker on the Block: Hjalmar Schlacht was made the head honcho of the Reichsbank.
    • Money Makeover: Out with the old inflated currency, in with the shiny new Rentenmark.
    • Cut, Cut, Cut: Slashed government spending and laid off 700,000 civil servants.
    • Hello Allies: Convinced the Allies to discuss Germany's economic issues leading to the Dawes Plan. This plan cut down Germany's monthly reparations and got them a loan of 800 million marks from the US.
