A Quick Introduction

  • Place: Kronstadt naval base near Petrograd.
  • Who: Sailors who once ❤️ the Bolsheviks!
  • Why it matters: These sailors were crucial to the 1917 October Revolution and the civil war. But by 1921... not so much.

Drama, Drama, Drama! 😮

  • Backstory: Many sailors were originally peasants. By 1921, they were hearing horror stories from their hometowns about grain grabbing. Also, their pals in Petrograd were starving and working in horrible conditions.
  • Tipping Point: Demonstrations started in Petrograd, and the vibes quickly got to Kronstadt. Uh-oh.

Activity Time 🎉

Mission: Decode the demands from our sailor buddies at Kronstadt!

The Kronstadt Wishlist 📜

  • New Elections - Current leaders aren't vibing with workers or peasants anymore.
  • Free Speech - Let everyone speak their mind! Even the Anarchists and Left Socialists.
  • Conference Time - A get-together for non-Party folks from various places.
  • Free Our Friends - Release political prisoners from Socialist parties and worker groups.
  • Let's Investigate - A team to check on all those detained in prisons.
  • No More Politics in the Military - No more special privileges for any political party. Replace politics with cool cultural groups!
  • Bye-bye Militia - Get rid of those between towns.
  • Equal Food For All - Unless you're doing a risky job.
  • No More Party Guards - If you need security at factories, ask the workers first.
  • Farm Freedom - Let peasants do their thing with their land and animals (no hiring though).
  • Join the Resolution Train - Asking military units to back these points.

Real-World Analogy: Imagine your favorite band suddenly starts singing tunes you don't recognize. The Kronstadt sailors felt the same about the Bolsheviks!
