<p>Hey folks, get ready to dive into the wild and wonderful world of classification systems in psychology. Today we&#39;re chatting about the DSM, ICD, and CCMD-3. Think of these like the ultimate encyclopedias of mental disorders. Each one has its special flavors and quirks, so let&#39;s get started!</p>


<ul>
	<li>Think of the DSM as the star quarterback of the American psychology team. This system is used widely in the USA.</li>
	<li>For example, imagine if your friend from New York tells you they&#39;ve been diagnosed with ADHD. The doc probably used the DSM to reach that conclusion.</li>
</ul>


<ul>
	<li>The ICD is a real globetrotter, maintained by the big dogs at the World Health Organization (WHO). This one&#39;s not just for mental health, but all diseases. You could say it&#39;s a jack of all trades.</li>
	<li>It&#39;s currently in its 10th edition (fancy name: ICD-10) and it&#39;s the go-to system in European countries.</li>
	<li>So, if your cousin in France says they&#39;ve got the flu, the ICD probably had a part to play in that diagnosis.</li>
</ul>


<ul>
	<li>Last but not least, we&#39;ve got the CCMD, currently strutting its stuff in its third edition (aka CCMD-3).</li>
	<li>It&#39;s used in China and has lots in common with the DSM and ICD in terms of structure and categories. But it has a few special tweaks to fit cultural contexts, like a custom-tailored suit.</li>
	<li>The CCMD-3 also includes around 40 unique culturally related diagnoses, which is a fancy way of saying that it acknowledges conditions particularly prevalent or unique to Chinese culture.</li>
	<li>For instance, there&#39;s a condition called &quot;Qi-Gong Psychotic Reaction&quot; which is uniquely listed in the CCMD. It refers to a temporary, acute mental disorder related to intense meditation practices.</li>
</ul>

<p>In a nutshell, these classification systems help doctors around the world diagnose and treat mental and physical health issues. They&#39;re kinda like the rulebooks in a soccer match, except the game is understanding the human mind, and there&#39;s no halftime show.
