Understanding cultures- a living, breathing entity 🌍

Just like your favorite playlist that gets a new addition now and then, cultures too evolve, adapt, and modify according to the changing demands of their environmental contexts. However, they do maintain their signature tune by remaining consistent across generations. This helps cultures survive the test of time. Just like how DNA is passed from parents to children, cultures ensure their survival by transmitting attitudes, behaviors, and beliefs from one generation to the next. This process is known as cultural transmission. It's a bit like handing down Grandma's secret cookie recipe to keep the tradition alive!

Learning the culture- the process of enculturation 📚

Remember how Neo learns about the Matrix? Enculturation is similar, it's the process where individuals learn about their culture. You could pick it up by observation (like noticing people take off their shoes before entering a home), formal instruction (school lessons about national holidays), or direct personal experience (participating in a community festival). Learning about a culture's rituals, traditions, and unspoken rules is like getting the cheat codes to function successfully within it. Enculturation and social cognition (how we perceive and interpret social information) work together in the grand game of cultural transmission.

Cultural transmission & enculturation- two sides of the same coin 🔄

Cultural transmission is like learning the dance moves of your culture by participating in it, while enculturation is the process of receiving this knowledge. It's a bit like learning a new dance; cultural transmission is the rhythm and steps that you learn by dancing with others, and enculturation is the practice and understanding you gain in the process.
