Alright pals, buckle up as we're going on a wild ride through cultural dimensions, diving into globalization and its impact on individual behavior! Grab your popcorn and let's start!

Take 1- cultural dimensions 🎬

What are cultural dimensions? Simply put, it's a way to compare cultures based on several factors. Now, the big cheeses in this field are the United States (US) and China, and we're examining them through the lens of individualism and collectivism.

Imagine these two as the extreme ends of a spectrum. In individualistic societies (like the US, scoring a whopping 91), people value independence and personal achievements. Think superheroes like Batman or Iron Man, doing their own thing! 🦸‍♂️ On the other hand, collectivist societies (China in our case, with a score of 20), prioritize the group, family, or community over the individual. Like the Avengers or the Justice League, it's all about teamwork! 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

Take 2- acculturation & globalization 🎬

So, how does a culture change its spots, you ask? Enter acculturation - the process by which people adopt the customs and attitudes of another group. Think of it like downloading a new app onto your phone - you still have the old stuff, but now you can do more things!

And the force that pushes the 'download' button? That's globalization, folks! With the opening up of trade doors in 1979, China not only welcomed new goods, but also cultural influences. Think of it like swapping recipes with your neighbor - you might start finding their dishes in your own kitchen!
