Physical maturation fitness & motivation ๐Ÿ‹๏ธ

  • Physical Maturation ๐Ÿงฌ

    • Important for learning new skills.
    • If a person hasn't physically matured enough, they may not be able to perform certain tasks or learn certain skills.
  • Physical Fitness ๐Ÿƒ

    • Just being physically mature doesn't mean someone can do a task, they also need to be physically fit.
    • If they aren't fit enough, physical training can help.
  • Motivation ๐ŸŽฏ

    • The most important factor in learning.
    • The person has to WANT to learn.
    • Closely linked with physical maturation, people tend to know when they're ready to learn something new.

๐Ÿ’ก Example: Imagine a 13-year-old who's physically matured enough to start lifting weights. However, if they're not fit enough, they might struggle. But, with training and a strong desire to learn, they can get there!

Transfer of training ๐Ÿ”„

  • Positive Transfer

    • When practicing one task helps in learning or performing another.
    • ๐ŸŽพ Example: Playing tennis can improve hand-eye coordination, which can help in playing badminton.
  • Negative Transfer

    • When practicing one task makes it harder to learn or perform another.
    • ๐Ÿš— Example: If you've been driving in a country where people drive on the left, you might struggle to adjust to driving on the right in another country.
  • Zero Transfer

    • When practicing one task doesn't affect the learning or performance of another.
    • ๐Ÿ“– Example: Being good at history doesn't necessarily make you good at math.
