๐Ÿฅฉ Proteion the body's building blocks

  • What are they?
Proteins are the second MVP (Most Valuable Player) in the body after water. Imagine them as LEGO pieces - the building blocks of life!

  • What makes a protein?
Made up of: Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Hydrogen atoms.

The Secret Ingredient: Amino Acids. They’re like different shapes of LEGO blocks, with 20 different types out there! But out of these, 8 are VIP and we have to get them from our diet. Think of them as the rare golden LEGOs.

  • Food sources

    • ๐Ÿ– Meat
    • ๐ŸŸ Fish
    • ๐Ÿฅ› Milk & Dairy
    • ๐Ÿฅš Eggs
    • ๐ŸŒฑ Pulses and Cereals.

Quick hack: Pulses and grains miss a few golden LEGOs (essential amino acids). So, pair them up! Like Batman & Robin, together they are stronger!

  • Why care about Proteins?

    • ๐Ÿ’ช Structural: Building up muscles, bones, skin, cells.
    • ๐Ÿ“ž Transport/Communication: Like Uber for nutrients and a phone line for cells!
    • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Protective: Defending the body like knights with shields and armor!
    • โš™๏ธ Enzymatic: Think of them as workers on the factory floor, keeping everything running smoothly.

Did you know? Lack of protein can be a real villain causing slow growth and dangerous diseases. But too much, especially from meat, is like inviting too many guests to a party!

๐Ÿ’ง Water the liquid of life

  • Why is it a Big Deal? Our Body’s Spa: The adult body is like a mini-ocean with 35-45 liters of water.

    Job Description

    • ๐Ÿš› Acts as a transporter (Think of it as the Amazon delivery for our cells!).
    • ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Controls our body temperature (sweat).
    • ๐Ÿ“ž Helps cells chat with each other.
    • ๐Ÿ›ท Makes sure our joints don’t creak like old doors (lubrication).

Thirsty yet? Our body makes sure we have just the right amount of water. Drink too little, and it's like a drought. Drink too much, and it's like a flood!

๐ŸŒ Real-world Examples

  • Think of a protein deficiency like a house made with missing LEGO pieces. It won't stand strong and can fall easily. This is what happens with malnutrition.

  • Ever seen athletes drinking protein shakes? They're trying to give their muscles the perfect LEGO blocks to build stronger structures after an intense workout.

  • During hot summers, you sweat more. That's your body's in-built AC system, using water to cool down, just like sprinkling water on a hot pavement!
