Anxiety - What's that? ๐Ÿง 

  • Definition: It's when you feel uneasy about a situation, especially if it threatens your self-worth, physical safety, or makes you feel uncertain. Imagine feeling jittery before giving a presentation or stepping up to bat with bases loaded.
  • Key Point: Anxiety is about how you feel. It's not anxiety if you don't see it that way.

Types of Anxiety ๐ŸŽญ

There are three main types!

 Cognitive Anxiety

  • The worry zone ๐Ÿค”.
  • Think of it as a loop of negative thoughts and images you can't turn off. It's like that feeling when you can't remember if you turned off the oven.

Somatic Anxiety

  • The body alarm system ๐Ÿšจ.
  • This is all about your body's physical reactions. Ever felt your hands shake before a big event? That's your body telling you, "Hey! You're anxious!" And knowing this can sometimes make you even more anxious.

 Behavioural Component

  • This one's a bit trickier, but it's about how anxiety influences our actions.
