What's EMG?

๐Ÿ” EMG = Electromyography. It's like eavesdropping on our muscles' electrical convos! Helps us to:

  • Check when a muscle contracts (timing).
  • See how powerful a contraction is.
  • Tell if muscles are getting tired (fatigue).

๐Ÿ“Œ Example: Ever watched how a lie detector graph moves up and down? That's kind of how EMG displays muscle electricity, but instead of detecting lies, it's revealing muscle secrets!

Setting up the EMG

  • Electrodes: Think of them like the microphone for our muscles' talk.
    • Deep inside the muscle? Nope! That'd be too invasive.
    • On the skin? Yep! Above the gossiping muscle, please.
  • Then, these electrodes are connected to an amplifier, think of it like the volume button, making the muscle convo louder and clearer.
