What is biomechanics? ๐Ÿค”

  • Definition: Biomechanics is all about applying mechanics to our bodies and the sports stuff we use. Think of it as the science behind our amazing dance moves or that perfect basketball shot!

Real-world example: Ever wonder why Michael Jordan could fly so high when dunking? That’s biomechanics in action!

Two types of forces in biomechanics ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŽ

  • Forces caused by the body: This is like your muscles pumping when you're lifting weights or pedaling a bicycle.

  • Forces on the body from outside: Stuff like gravity pulling you down when you jump, or a soccer player pushing you during a match.

Real-world example: When you're surfing, your legs push against the board (forces by the body) while the waves push you around (external forces).
