Bones bones & more bones ๐Ÿฆด

  • Bony Scavenger Hunt

    • Proximal to the phalanges: Metacarpals (think of the bones in your hand before your fingers!)
    • Anterior to the distal end of the femur: Patella (your kneecap!)
    • Posterior to the clavicle: Scapula (your shoulder blade.)
    • And so on...
  • Skeleton Assembly

    • Axial Skeleton: Your central frame! It includes the skull, vertebral column, and rib cage.
    • Appendicular Skeleton: Your limbs and their attachments. Imagine this as the appendages attached to your axial skeleton!
  • Pelvic Girdle Rockstars: Ilium, Ischium, and Pubis. Think of them as the bony belt holding your legs!

  • Longest Bone Award: Femur! Your trusty thigh bone.

  • Why Skeletons Aren't Just For Halloween

  • Vertebral Column’s Roles

  • From ilium, lumbar, etc., to humerus: Latissimus dorsi.
  • From ischium and femur to lateral tibia: Biceps femoris.

  • Epimysium: Surrounds entire muscle.
  • Perimysium: Surrounds bundles of muscle fibers.

  • Calf Crew: Gastrocnemius (most superficial) and Soleus.
