Appendicular skeleton

  • Main job? Movin' and groovin'! ๐Ÿ’ƒ
  • ๐ŸŒŽ Real-world example: If the axial skeleton (your spine, ribs, etc.) is like the security guard at a concert, then the appendicular skeleton is the main performer dancing on stage!

The upperbody boogie ๐Ÿ™Œ

  • Pectoral (shoulder) Girdles
    • Made up of: Clavicles + Scapulae.
    • Fun fact: Clavicles are the ONLY bones connecting the shoulder to the main (axial) skeleton.
    • Scapulae are triangular and sit behind your ribcage. Think of them like the wings on a bird's back! ๐Ÿฆ
  • Humerus
    • A long bone in your upper arm.
    • ๐ŸŒŽ Real-world example: Like a crane arm - it connects at the shoulder (with scapula) and at the elbow (with ulna).
  • Ulna & Radius
    • Two parallel "buddy bones" in your forearm.
    • Cool part? They twirl around each other at the radioulnar joint!
  • Hand Jive
    • Wrist = Carpal bones (tiny and packed together).
    • Hand = Metacarpals.
    • Fingers = Phalanges (3 for fingers, 2 for thumbs).
    • ๐ŸŒŽ Real-world example: Think of your hand like a Swiss army knife. Different tools (fingers) for different tasks!
