The art of disease prevention & Treatment

🌽 Preventative treatment is all about making healthy choices - like eating a balanced diet or skipping that fifth chocolate bar - to cut down on the risk of diseases such as cancer or heart diseases. Kind of like how we'd prefer to maintain our bikes regularly rather than deal with a flat tire on the way to school!

💉 If we fail to keep up with preventative measures (like ignoring the squeaky brakes), we might need curative treatment, which is like the doctor version of calling roadside assistance. More expensive and might involve a long "repair" period.

🌍 The world's poor are unfortunately more at risk due to lack of info, money or access to health facilities. It's like being stuck with a broken bike in the middle of nowhere, with no help around.

💰 Government funding might need tweaking to balance this out, kind of like reallocating school funds to make sure everyone gets a decent lunch.

When diseases go global - pandemics

🌏 Pandemics are like the villainous version of the Avengers - they're diseases that have gone global. They're difficult to manage, especially when they involve new diseases, like the infamous Ebola or Zika virus.

✈️ With lots of people jet-setting around the world and disease vectors like mosquitoes with frequent flyer miles, well-known diseases could spread rapidly too!

🍰 An unfortunate side effect of increased standards of living is the spread of diseases linked to lifestyle, kind of like how too much cake leads to a toothache!

When the world gets diabetes

💔 Diabetes is a serious condition that affects a growing number of people worldwide. It can lead to severe health issues like blindness, heart attacks, stroke, and lower limb amputation, reducing a person's quality of life.

💉 There are three types of diabetes: Type I (insufficient insulin production), Type II (body's ineffective use of insulin), and Type III (occurs during pregnancy, increased risk for children developing Type II in early adulthood).

🏃‍♀️ A lack of insulin leads to high blood sugar (hyperglycemia) and could cause severe health conditions if not managed well. On the flip side, low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can happen if a diabetic person eats less or exercises more than usual, leading to symptoms like sweating, tremors, and confusion.
