Hey future Biologist! 🤓 Today, we're diving into the fascinating world of Natural Selection. Imagine you're like Simon Cowell on "X Factor" but for animal traits. You're picking which traits make the cut and go onto the next generation. 🎤🌟

The Basics - Fitness & Selection Pressure 🎽🌪️

Fitness is like your "Survival Scorecard." If you've got a good genotype or phenotype, you're more likely to strut your stuff into the next generation! 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Selection Pressure is the environment's way of playing favorites. It’s like when a coach picks only the fastest kids for the relay race. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Stabilizing Selection 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️

What Happens: Here, the environment gives a thumbs-down 👎 to extreme traits and a big thumbs-up 👍 to average traits.

Real-World Example: Babies! In humans, both really low and high birth weights could cause complications. So, a birth weight that's just right (think Goldilocks!) is favored. 🍼👶
