What is cash? ๐Ÿ’ต

  • Cash = Money that businesses obtain through:

    • Selling their products/services ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ‘•
    • Borrowing from banks ๐Ÿฆ
    • Getting investments from shareholders ๐Ÿ’ผ
  • Key point๐Ÿ”‘: Cash is SUPER liquid (like water) and is kept in the "current assets" part of the balance sheet. Think of it as the lifeblood of a business. Too little, and the business could collapse. ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿข

What is cash flow? ๐Ÿ”„

  • Cash Flow = The money dance!๐Ÿ’ƒ Money flowing in and out of a business over time.

    • Cash inflows๐Ÿ’ธ: Money coming IN (like from sales).
    • Cash outflows๐Ÿ’ธ: Money going OUT (like paying for costs).
  • Key point๐Ÿ”‘: Positive cash flow (more inflow than outflow) means businesses can cover their daily costs and keep the lights on!๐Ÿ’ก

What about profit? ๐Ÿ“Š

  • Profit = Total revenue (sales) - Total costs๐Ÿ’ก.

    • Positive difference = Profit! ๐Ÿ’ฒ๐Ÿ’ฒ
    • Negative difference = Loss. ๐Ÿ˜ข
  • Key point๐Ÿ”‘: Profit tells you if your business is financially successful. A big green thumbs up!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’š
