🎉 Hey history whiz! Let’s dive into how the Nazis treated Jews, and why it’s super important to remember.

The Basics

  • Hitler’s Obsession: He really didn't like Jews. When he had the power, he acted on this hatred.
  • The Timeline: From 1933 to 1939, life became progressively worse for Jews in Germany. This wasn’t just random bullying; it was systematic persecution backed by government violence.

Key Moments (and they’re pretty nasty)

  • The Failed Boycott (1933): Nazis tried to get everyone to avoid Jewish shops/businesses. Many Germans didn’t jump on this hate train, so the Nazis stopped it.
  • Law of the Restitution (1933): This was bad news for Jewish professionals. It kicked many Jews out of their jobs, and a lot left Germany because of it.
  • The SA: Think of them as Hitler’s personal bullies. They beat up, tortured, and killed Jews. Also, they had a bonfire party with Jewish books in 1933. 📚🔥 Not cool.
  • Nazi Teachers: They made sure Jewish kids sat separately in class. Ever felt left out? Multiply that by a million.
  • Nuremberg Laws (1935): Now this is some next-level discrimination:
    • Reich Citizenship Law: Basically said Jews weren’t fully German. Ouch.
    • Law for the Protection of German Blood and Honour: Jews couldn’t marry non-Jews or employ young German women. And Germans were told to snitch on anyone breaking these rules.
