Post-WWI Japan saw a proliferation of political parties. Yet, it wasn&#39;t all rosy. Let&#39;s dive in!

An era of &#39;democracy&#39; post-WWI in Japan.

		<li>Lack of a clear political ideology.</li>
		<li>Failure to cooperate against anti-party elements.</li>

🍱 Real-World Analogy: Imagine trying to make a sushi roll (Japan&rsquo;s political landscape) but you don&#39;t have the right ingredients, or some are not fresh (the party issues). No matter how many times you try, the sushi isn&rsquo;t going to taste good.

	<li>Tensions with China, especially over Manchuria.</li>
	<li>Japanese democracy faltered, unable to challenge rising right-wing nationalism.</li>

		<li>Remained banned until post-WWII.</li>

		<li>1928 general election: No big increase in left-wing representation.</li>
		<li>Reason: Zaibatsu (business conglomerates) backed traditional parties, stifling the left-wing.</li>
		<li>Trade unions existed but faced many challenges, and by 1940, they were banned.</li>

🍜 Real-World Example: Imagine having various types of noodles, but every time you try to cook one, someone (the government or big businesses) either takes away your ingredients or gives you the wrong recipe, making it impossible to cook a delicious dish (the growth of left-wing movements).

	<li>Taishō democracy seemed promising, but internal party issues and external pressures limited its success.</li>
	<li>Left-wing movements tried to gain ground but faced heavy suppression and challenges.</li>
</ul>

🎏 Fun Fact: Taishō era got its name from Emperor Taishō and was a period between 1912 to 1926. If political eras had personalities, Taishō would be the teen rebelling against its parents (old traditions) but facing tons of challenges while doing so.
