Defining physical fitness ๐Ÿ”

  • Physical fitness = individual’s ability to do a specific activity. Imagine being able to sprint super fast but gasping for air after climbing a few stairs. Different activities, different fitness levels! ๐Ÿ˜…
  • "Fitness" can be used in various ways:
    • ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ "Fit for purpose": Like a tool being perfect for a job. A hammer for a nail, not for a screw!
    • ๐Ÿง  Mental fitness: Having a sharp and resilient mind.

A peek into history ๐Ÿ“œ

  • Historically, when people talked about fitness, they mostly thought of sports. ๐Ÿ†
    • Athletes = Super fit! Why? They need to show off some serious skills in their sport.
    • Real-world Example: Imagine Usain Bolt sprinting vs. Michael Phelps swimming. Both super fit, but in different ways!
  • Every sport has its demands. Like needing breath control in swimming but explosive power in shot put.
    • ๐Ÿšซ Being fit in tennis doesn't mean you're ready for a marathon!
