Imagine you're at a fun-fair, going from one booth to another, enjoying different games. Circuit training is kinda like that, but for fitness!

Basics

  • ๐Ÿ”„ Circuit: One round of all the exercises in sequence.
  • ๐Ÿ”€ Combines strength, resistance, and aerobic exercises.
  • ๐Ÿ’ก Objective: Improve overall conditioning.

How it works

  • Follow a set sequence of exercises.
  • Each exercise has a set duration (e.g., 30 seconds) or repetitions.
  • Take a short break (e.g., 10 seconds) to move to the next exercise.
  • Complete the sequence = 1 Circuit done! ๐ŸŽ‰

Example: Let’s say our fun-fair (circuit) has eight booths (exercises). Spend 30 seconds at each booth, then take a 10-second stroll to the next one. Go through all eight? Congrats, you've completed a circuit!

Interval training ๐Ÿš€

Think of this as the roller coaster of training. High peaks of intense action followed by calm valleys to catch your breath!

  • ๐ŸŒ‹ High/max intensity exercise bouts.
  • ๐ŸŒ„ Low-intensity recovery periods.
  • ๐Ÿšด‍โ™‚๏ธ Suitable for any cardiovascular exercise like running, swimming, etc.

Flexibility: You can adjust

  • Intensity of work and rest.
  • Duration of work and rest.
  • Number of interval repetitions.

Real-World Example: Ever seen a Tour de France cyclist go full-throttle uphill, then slow down for a bit before another uphill burst? Yep, that's interval training in action!
