Exercise's Effect on Physical vs. Psychological Well-being

We've always heard about the physical perks of a good workout, but guess what? Exercise can also boost your mind and mood! ๐ŸŒž

The Difference Between Mood and Emotion ๐ŸŒˆ

  • Mood: Those feelings you get that can last hours, days, weeks, or even months. Kinda like your month-long obsession with that new song. ๐ŸŽถ
  • Emotion: Immediate reactions to events. Like that adrenaline rush when your favorite team scores. Lasts shorter than moods - just a few minutes or hours.

Example

  • Mood: Waking up and feeling on top of the world all day because it's sunny outside.
  • Emotion: Feeling super excited when you hear a piece of good news.

Types of Moods ๐ŸŒˆ

  • Positive Moods (Yay! ๐Ÿ˜): Think happiness, enthusiasm, and that feeling when your favorite song comes on.
  • Negative Moods (Oh no! ๐Ÿ˜”): Those days filled with anger, worry, sadness, and tiredness.

Fun Fact! ๐Ÿ’ก Exercise and physical activity can change that playlist from sad songs to feel-good hits! More exercise = more happiness and energy and less tension and anger.

Exercise Bonus Benefits ๐ŸŽ

  • Boost Self-esteem: Ever feel like a superhero after a good workout? That's exercise making you love yourself more!
  • Improved Sleep: Workouts can help you sleep like a baby – faster, deeper, and longer. ๐Ÿ’ค
  • Women’s Health: Exercise can make experiences like menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause smoother.
