	<li>They gain and lose materials, have water traveling between layers, and experience internal chemical changes.</li>
	<li>Think of them as open systems that are in a constant balancing act - a dynamic equilibrium.</li>

Real-World Example: Imagine a bustling market. Sellers come in, some leave, new products arrive, some are sold out. The market, like soil, is in a constant state of change!

		<li>The natural process that breaks down rocks and bedrock.</li>
		<li>Creates the soil&#39;s C horizon (the base layer of the soil).</li>

		<li>For example: When a rock is exposed to rain, wind, and temperature changes, it can crack and slowly turn into smaller particles. That&rsquo;s weathering in action!</li>

		<li>Movement of materials from one layer of the soil to another.</li>
		<li>Think of it as the soil&#39;s internal conveyor belt.</li>

Real-World Example: Remember playing with layered sand art as a kid? When you shook it, some layers mixed or materials moved. That&rsquo;s like soil translocation!
