The bush fallowing method🔥🌳

Think of bush fallowing as the ultimate 'crop rotation' but on a forest scale! It starts with clearing an area of forest or "bush". Our farmers may even burn some trees to provide a beneficial boost to the soil. This sounds intense, right? But imagine you're a soil particle - you've just won the jackpot! The ash from the burnt trees is nutrient-rich, with the very same elements that once fueled the trees now ready to supercharge the soil!

The cycle of crops🌽🍠

On this nutrient-rich land, the farmers grow crops like maize and sweet potatoes (yummy!). But after a few years, the plot isn't as fertile anymore, a bit like a party when all the snacks have been eaten. The plot is then abandoned, and the farmers move to a fresh, new plot, ready to start the party again.
