What is consciousness? 🤔

  • Definition: Consciousness is the state of complex awareness where we're aware of many things, even without actively thinking about them.
  • Real-world example: It's like having multiple apps open on your phone. You may not be using all of them actively, but they're still running in the background!

Levels of consciousness - 😴 ➡️ 🚀

  • Sleep: A state of reduced/partial consciousness.
    • Example: Imagine putting your computer on 'Sleep Mode'. It's still on, but not in full operation!
  • Unconsciousness due to General Anaesthetics: These drugs are used during surgery to make us unaware.
    • Fun fact: We still don't know exactly how these drugs work!
