- This was the FIRST major gathering of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) post-Mao Zedong's death.
- Time? 🗓️: December 1978.
- Significance? 🎯: Launched China into its post-Mao reforms.

- 🎭 Restoration of Party Democracy
- Aimed to correct mistakes of Maoist purges from the 60s and 70s.

- Deng Xiaoping appointed as the chairman of the People's Political Consultative Conference (PPCC).
