- 🇺🇸 The US and its Cold War efforts to contain communism were at their peak.
- 🌎 Latin American countries were keen on economic development, and they weren’t getting enough support from the US. Remember those times when you hoped for extra pocket money but got none? Kind of like that!

- 🇺🇸 USA asks the Organization of American States (OAS) to join them in the Korean War against North Korea.
- Outcome: Only 🇨🇴 Colombia says, “Count us in!”
